Listing Details: new support for Floor Plans, better Rich Media and fine-tunable Street View and more…

We have just published a bunch of updates in our systems to give you more choices and better streamlined features when it comes to giving your listings the best online treatment possible. Please note, that these changes are available only in our Web Private Office; please fire up your Chrome, Safari, or Firefox and check it out if you haven’t yet: http://private-office.myrealpage.com

NEW DEDICATED SUPPORT FOR FLOOR PLANS

We now have a separate tab in the Listing Editor specifically for Floor Plans. Previously, you had to manage your Floor Plans through the Listing Documents which didn’t get proper visibility in the listing details views and one couldn’t look at the floor plans without downloading them. With the new Floor Plans tab, you can easily upload all your Floor Plans in one convenient location; and you can also customize the label for the dedicated tab and even enter an optional introduction text. In addition, if you upload PDF documents of your floor plans, they will be shown inside the page without the visitor needing to download them: less time spent fumbling with the documents and more on your listing page.

BETTER SUPPORT FOR RICH MEDIA (VIDEOS, VIRTUAL TOURS)

We have also streamlined how you add and manage your listings’ videos and virtual tours. Both are now combined into one list; and we have also added the ability for you to change their default tab label, as well as add an optional introduction text. You can also use this facility to change your “Videos | V.Tours” tab into something completely different, like a tab dedicated to the listing’s neighborhood, with its own text, pictures, and videos.

FINE-TUNING DIALOG FOR GOOGLE STREET VIEW

It is obvious that you would like your listing to have best possible presentation online. You can now use our integrated, convenient dialog to fine-tune how the Google Street View of your listing looks online. You can simply launch this dialog and use the standard Street View controls to zoom in, pan and rotate the view to get the best possible look of your listing. Our system will remember exactly what you have done and will apply it to the listing.

STANDALONE VIRTUAL TOUR (MEDIA) PAGE FOR YOUR LISTING

We have long offered a standalone media presentation for your listing which you can add to your listing’s information in the MLS® system. Many MLS® systems allow you to submit such external links to feature virtual tours, images, etc. We have modified this listing presentation to include Floor Plans support, better image gallery and more.

Three new weblets added: Twitter Profile, Facebook Like Box, and Google Translate

Say hello to three new weblets added to a large and growing selection of myRealPage website components. The three new arrivals are:

  • Twitter Profile weblet : a customizable widget that shows your tweets
  • Facebook Like Box : a customizable widget that shows activity on your Facebook Page
  • Google Translate : a widget that displays a “translate” drop-down menu and uses Google Translate service to translate your website pages into a variety of languages

It was possible to add these weblets to your myRealPage websites in the past, but you had to copy-and-paste a bunch of codes and if you wanted to change anything you had to start from scratch. We thought we could do better…. The new weblets will now let you integrate these tools into your websites very easily; and you can always come back later and change their settings without any copy-and-pasting.

You can find the new weblets in the “General” section or simply by typing their names into the search box.

Introducing “Location Search”: a new listing search weblet for myRealPage websites

We are very pleased to release a new addition to an extensive array of our website weblets (those little page components that act like building blocks for your website). This time, it’s “Location Search” weblet, designed for a super easy listing search based on a typed-in location.

location-search-example

This weblet is a great tool to engage your website visitors and get them to start experimenting and using your listing tools. It lets your visitors instantly see the listings they are looking for. All they need to do is simply type in the desired location, such as a city, neighborhood, postal/zip code or an MLS® number.

This weblet contains additional options. These will allow you to fine-tune the way this weblet looks and behaves. For example, you can configure this weblet to automatically search a particular property type, and you can add “Property Types” as an additional control to this form.

Play and Print: New Listing Feature Sheets arrive in the web Private Office

We are very pleased to release a complete re-work on our Listing Feature Sheets. The new feature sheets have been completely redesigned and rethought and brought in line with the rest of the new Private Office. Our main design goal was to have the feature sheets produce great-looking results out-of-the-box but also give you fine control over customizations and adjustments which are inevitable when dealing with printed material. As a result, the new feature sheets pack a powerful interactive editor and easy-to-use tools.

We have created a quick video with the main highlights of the feature sheets.

Major update to Weblet editing tools: a new look and function for the new Private Office

As you may know, we launched a new, completely revamped web-based Private Office a little while ago. Today, we are very pleased to announce a complete re-work on the way our weblet editing tools look, feel, and function.

Weblets” are little building blocks that comprise the contents of our web pages. They account for most of myRealPage website platform’s flexibility and power. They allow you to add complex, interactive features to your pages with just a few clicks. myRealPage offers several dozens of various weblets, such as “Text Editor”, “Embedded Video”, “Image Banner”, “Interactive Map”, “Local Places”, “Listings”, “Listing Showcases”, as well as a series of weblets designed specifically for mobile websites.

We decided to go through every single one of our weblets’ editing screens and re-organize, re-engineer and re-design the way they look and behave, including the actual Weblet Picker itself. We made each configuration screen easier to understand and work with and we “annotated” all the options with little question marks to let you know right on the spot what each of the options does. Today’s update is the result of this laborious but rewarding process. Take a look at the screenshots below and explore your new Private Office yourself: http://private-office.myrealpage.com

Here is how you would add new content to your pages:
