“Location, location, location” is the mantra of the Real Estate business and we all know it. That’s why, we hope you will like myRealPage’s new “Local Places Map” weblet (a little building block for your web pages). This weblet lets you show schools, shopping centers, amenities, places of worship, hospitals, clinics, etc. on a Google Map centered around a location of your choice. Currently, this weblet is available to our Canadian customers only but we are working to bring this functionality to our users in the US as well. The weblet is being released as a beta version and, while in beta, is available free of charge.

This is a great weblet to help build those niche market or neighborhood pages and fill your website with relevant local information and tools.

You can easily find the weblet in our Weblet registry and the weblet settings screen allows you to fine-tune the look and behavior of the weblet in a very granular manner. You can choose the zoom level and the type of the map to show, as well as what categories of places to show by default. If you are an advanced user or working with a designer or developer, you will be able to even “inject” your own javascript and CSS into the weblet. You can even replace all the default icons with your own, if you are so inclined.

Take it for a spin and let us know what you think! We would love to hear from you: leave us a comment or drop us a line to support-at-myrealpage.com

Where do I find the weblets?
Bill Skrypnyk on May 3, 2010 3:51 PM
Kim, this weblet can be added just like any other weblet on your website. When you are in the Page Editor, simply select "Edit Content", and click on the little red cross icon to add weblet to your page; then choose "Local Places" from the list.

If you have trouble getting it to work, drop us a line at support-at-myrealpage.com and we'll be happy to guide you through it.
