Pillar 9™ IDX and VOW – What is the difference?

If you are a REALTOR® in Alberta (other than Edmonton), Pillar 9™, which provides MLS® data for your website, has changed its pricing model.

Pillar 9™ is an independent company that provides a streamlined technology experience for Alberta REALTORS®, including access to province-wide listing data on your website.

Note that we do not profit on these fees and charge them to help recoup some of the costs imposed on us by MLS® data providers.

You will now have two options for MLS® data on your website:

VOW Data Feed

The VOW data feed includes more MLS® listings than the IDX feed and also includes additional fields of information not available on the IDX version. To view the additional fields, a user must sign-up and become a member of your website VOW. The VOW feed also includes off-market data (sold listings).

VOW Data Feed Additional Fields:

Above Grade Finished Area Acres Water Rights
Acres Cleared Days on Market
Acres Cultivated HOA Fee Includes
Acres Freehold Lower Level Finished Area
Acres Irrigated Possession
Acres Leasehold Possession Date
Acres Not Cultivated Reg. Size
Acres Seeded Reg. Size Includes
Acres Tame Hay Taxes
Acres Treed Tax Assessed Value
Acres Waste

If you’d like to use the VOW Data Feed, you do not need to do anything. All accounts will be set to the VOW Data Feed by default, your monthly billing total will increase $3.

This will be the default option. If you wish to use the IDX Data Feed instead you need to let us know.

IDX Search Data Feed

The IDX data feed allows users to search all IDX enabled MLS® listings on your website. However, these listings do not include all the identical listing(s) information as the VOW Data Feed (see chart below). In addition, the IDX data feed does not include off-market data (sold listings). We will be required to remove all sold listings currently on your website.

Your monthly billing total will remain the same as it is now.

Please note that using either feed will allow your website users to sign-up and become a member of your site, save searches, organize and annotate favourite listings etc. The significant difference between using the VOW feed is the additional data fields (see chart above) and the off-market data (sold listings).

Please complete the form below if you’d like to downgrade to the IDX Data Feed.

You will receive an email confirming your selection.
