Introducing Multiple Template support for websites

We are pleased to introduce a substantial feature addition to our website Content Management System (CMS): support for multiple templates. Multiple templates will allow you to better organize visual look and feel across sections of your website and will become indispensable if you work with third party web designers.

What is “multiple template support” and how can it be used? Historically, our website system provided you with a “Master Template” upon which the majority of your website’s pages would be based, but also supported the ability to detach individual pages from the Master Template to let them carry their own design look and feel (e.g. your home page). However, as your website becomes ever larger, more sophisticated, and custom; you will need to better organize your pages into groups, in which pages would share in a design common to that group. For example, you may want to have a blog oriented group of pages, or listing oriented group where the page top banner may be smaller or sidebars may contain different items or be absent altogether. That’s where multiple templates come in!

Multiple template support now means that you or your designer can create and organize the look and feel of your website in a much more logical manner and make the maintenance of the website much, much simpler.

For example, along with the Master Template, you may create additional templates to base your website pages on:

Using multiple templates is very simple. Simply create them and then assign them to pages. Each additional template is fully editable and supports custom HTML layout, giving you and your design team a tremendous power and flexibility in the use of our system.
