8 Realtor Success Mantras To Make 2018 The Best Year Yet

We’re going to get all Tony Robbins on you for a second. Bear with us.

There is power in positive thinking.

It’s true.

Not because some greater force picks up on what we put down (at least, not that we’re aware of).

But because when you practice positive thinking, you influence yourself. Your mood is lifted, you begin thinking more optimistically, and you discover new energy and motivation to propel yourself forward.

It’s easy for realtors to forget about the power of positivity. We’re often flying by the seat of our pants without taking the time to reflect, and losses or setbacks can feel deeply personal.

Let’s add another realtor-related New Year’s resolution to your list: think positively.

To get you on the right track, we’ve put together a list of our favourite realtor success mantras to help make 2018 your best year yet.

“I am in charge of whether today is a good day or a bad day.”

That’s right. You.

Not the client who hires you or fires you. Not the buyer who lowballs you or gives you over-asking.

Only YOU can decide whether each day is a good one or a bad one. And it really is a decision. Because you have to decide how you’ll deal with what comes your way. You can choose whether you’ll take bad news in stride or let it ruin the next eight hours.

Repeat this one to yourself every morning.

“I am a client magnet.”

This is another mantra that’s best used daily.

People want to work with you. You’re the best at what you do, and you consistently attract business.

If you believe it, you can be it.

“My job is about helping people and I am good at helping people.”

This is an important one. Especially when you’re having a hard time finding meaning in your job, or when you’re dealing with naysayers who say you only care about profits, not people.

Remember: when you help someone find their dream home, or when you help a homeowner make much-needed money from a sale, you’re making a difference in their lives. You’re helping people find comfort, plan for the future, start a new chapter, and gracefully close another.

It’s all about helping. And you’re good at it. That’s why you do what you do.

“I will plan for my success.”

It’s not a question of whether you’re going to be successful. Of course you will be (*positive thinking*). Plan for it!

Define what success looks like to you each month. Write out quarterly goals. Create a real estate blog content calendar. Schedule filming of new realtor marketing videos. Whatever it is, plan for it.

“I am filled with new ideas.”

Coming up with good, new, and plentiful ideas is the most challenging part of realtor marketing.

Free your creative block by manifesting those ideas. Repeat this mantra aloud to empower yourself and your idea-generating subconscious.

“I am always learning and growing.”

Whether it’s your first year as a real estate agent or your 40th, you are capable of learning new skills, developing your expertise, and growing as a real estate agent.

Don’t limit yourself to what you already know, and don’t doubt your ability to pick up new tricks. This is especially important when it comes to the wild world of online marketing.

You CAN learn how to master Facebook Ads for realtors. You CAN learn to use drones in your real estate marketing plans. You’re getting better all the time.

“I am the master of my schedule.”

Realtors wear so many hats. It can often feel like your schedule is beyond your control, and that your time is forever at the mercy of meetings that run long and clients who arrive late.

Take back that control in 2018. YOU are the only one who makes decisions about how your time is spent. Master your schedule and boost productivity.

“I am more than my job.”

Let this mantra remind you that there is life beyond real estate. Neither your professional failures or successes define your character.

Repeat this to yourself when you’re feeling inept or overwhelmed, or when you sense that realtor burnout is approaching. In order for 2018 to be your best year yet, you also need to be feeling your best. And part of that means feeling balanced.
