Use This Template to Write a Super Effective Real Estate Instagram Bio
Your real estate Instagram bio is your social media first impression.
Think of it like a dating profile. What message do you want to send? What do you want someone to notice about you right off the bat?
Those 150 characters may not seem like a big deal, but they can play a major role in helping visitors to your account decide whether or not they want to follow you.
And if they follow you, well … that’s an opportunity to turn them into a lead. And then into a client.
We’ve talked about how to write an Instagram bio as a REALTOR® before, but today we are going to make bio writing even easier with a template.
Ready for a new bio that brings all the clients to your page?
Use this template to write an effective real estate Instagram bio for your real estate business.
The Template
First, here’s a look at the template.
Name
[Your first and last name]
Business category
[Selected from Instagram’s list; not part of your bio characters]
Line #1
[What you do + where]
Line #2
[Why you’re special]
Line #3
[A call-to-action]
URL
[A link of your choosing; not part of your bio characters]
Next, we’ll break it all down line by line, then show you how it all comes together.
Your Name
This is the easiest part. Simply add your full name (the name you use in your real estate business).
We’re not talking about usernames in this template; simply the text in your bio field. But if your username is currently unrelated to your real name or to real estate, we’d recommend going ahead and changing it.

URL

If you’re using an Instagram business account (which you should be), you will have already listed your business as “real estate agent.” That will automatically appear in your bio, beneath your name.
Line #1 of our real estate Instagram bio template is where you’re going to get a little more specific.
Use line #1 to restate what is that you do and where you do it, then add a little extra detail.
Maybe you mention your real estate niche, your target area, or how many years you’ve been in the biz. Rather than just state that you’re an agent, express it.

Line #2
[Why you’re special]
Line #3
[A call-to-action]
URL
Line #2
This line is where you get to do a little bit of bragging.
Rather than squander some of your precious characters on a personal detail (e.g. “Mom of three” or “Loves burgers & hiking”), highlight what separates you from other agents. What makes you the best.
Imagine that a potential client has just asked “Why should I work with you over another agent?” This line of your Instagram bio should be a succinct answer to that question.
Maybe it’s that you have a high success rate for selling homes quickly. Or that you’ve been the top agent in your brokerage for several years in a row.

Your Instagram can include a link to a website. With your remaining characters, you want to convince followers that it’s a link they want to click.
Your link may simply be your website. Or it might be a link tool, like LinkTree, where the URL takes viewers to a landing page where they can explore a variety of links.
This is a great option when you want to direct your followers to a real estate lead magnet (where they provide their contact information and permission in exchange for something free and of value), but want to ensure they still have easy access to all your other content (like your real estate blog, your testimonials, your real estate videos, and so on).
Use line #3 to create a call-to-action for your link. Give followers a sense of what’s in it for them if they click the URL.
